As the light sources are installed into the metal sleeves with an elastic sealant, the lighting inserts are particularly well suited for use as sights on hand guns and other weapons. (see introduction). The small light sources installed in this manner can survive even extreme recoil effects without any problems. |

Installation instructions for mb-microtec ag inserts |
1. |
Drill a hole in the iron part with a diameter «A» and a cylindrical length
«B». The diameter «A» shall be 0,1 mm larger than the outside diameter
of the insert. The length «B» shall be 0,1 to 0,2 mm longer than the
length of the insert. |
| 2. |
Drill a second hole, either in horizontal (Fig.2) or vertical (Fig.1).
This second hole shall have a diameter «C» e.g. 1,0 to 1,5 mm and will
allow the excess of glue to escape. |
| 3. |
Clean all iron parts to make them free of oil and moisture.
|
| 4. |
Place a small amount of glue (recommended is Silicone RTV 732,
Dow Corning) into the hole in which the insert is to be placed.
|
| 5. |
Press the insert into the hole until the front surface of the insert is
exactly level with the front surface of the iron part. Remove the excess
of glue. Let the glue cure for 24 hours.
