Brightness

The brightness of a newly manufactured trigalight depends on the thickness of the coating, the geometrical shape, the purity of the gas used as well as the filling pressure of the gaseous tritium.

The painting of a reflection layer can further intensify the light. Nevertheless, one of the fundamental aspects is the colour of the light source.
A green trigalight is always brighter than a red or blue one with identical characteristics.

Brightness output by colour:
Based on green (100 %) the brightness output of the other colours is as follows:

The maximum brightness also depends on the length and colour of the light source.
The length of the light source should correspond to at least 3-4 x diameter [d].
